Sun, sun and more sun

Oh don't you just love being away on holidays!? We love it here in Rhodes and the weather is fabulous (yeah I know the weather is good in Sweden at the moment too but there's something about the Greek atmosphere ;)). We arrived at around 3 o'clock in the morning yesterday and were told we had been placed in Rhodes town at Hotel Mari. It's a really nice hotel right in the middle of everything and it is very close to the beach :)

After a few hours sleep we got up yesterday morning and strolled around, had brunch at Kringlan café where we're sitting right at this moment :) They have free wireless access and clever Katja brought her laptop so here I am blogging away! None of us got burnt yet, we were good girls putting on sun cream 30. It is a bit windy so it's lovely on the beach. As soon as we're finished here we're gonna go down again and we're so looking forward to it!

Paying bills, cleaning, packing..

It is gorgeous out today but I'm inside trying to pay bills, cleaning and packing for Rhodes. Ok, I can't complain because I have a week in the sun to look forward to. But it's a bit of a pity that I can't be out in the sun. Gonna try and go for a run later since I won't be able to do that for a while (don't think I will be running on my holidays but Lena and I have been talking about taking walks before breakfast every morning ;))!

It hasn't really sunk in that I'm actually going away, but it's gonna be so nice and I'm really excited about it now! Gonna take a taxi out to the airport later, we're gonna leave at around 19:00. Lena is on her way home from Dalarna now, will arrive in Solna about 17:00. I have finally paid my bills so it feels good, now it's time to clean the apartment properly so that I will be coming home to a tidy apartment.

Have to start packing as well, but will clean up first and then I'll start putting my summer gear in the suitcase :)

Don't know if I'll get the chance to blog that much while I'm away but I'm hoping to be able to write something anyway. Enjoy the summer weather in Sweden, it's gonna be nice here as well! :)

Great Midsummer's Eve

We had a fantastic day yesterday with plenty of food, laughter, sun, "kubb" playing and boule playing among great friends. The weather was brilliant, I can't remember the last time the weather was so good on Midsummer. A few dark clouds passed over our heads and we could feel one or two raindrops but that was it! :)

We met up at Smeduddsbadet near Rålambshovsparken at around 13:00. Altogether I think we were around 20 people and we had such a great time. Everyone had brought a lot of food and wine and Camilla made us two lovely Midsummer cakes :) Stayed til about 23:00 and on our way home we had a few games of boule at Boulebar before we went to the tube station to go home. All in all it was a fantastic day and everyone had so much fun :)

Trip to Rhodes

Finally our sun holiday is booked. We're going to Rhodes tomorrow evening, the flight is at 21:45. We don't know where we'll end up as we took a proper last minute trip that is unspecified, but it's a bit exciting at the same time. We're hoping for the best of course :) Only paid 2140SEK each so can't complain, we're going with Fritidsresor. Can't wait now, weeeeee!!!!!!!

Glad Midsommar!

Had a lovely walk (and talk) with Monika last night. We walked around Kungsholmen in the sun, it was such a beautiful evening and it felt like a proper summer's night :) Had a bit of headache when I came home, probably because I had been out for a run earlier and hadn't been drinking enough water, so I went to bed quite early.

This morning I got up and started preparing for our picknick. Have made meatballs and a quiche with chicken, mushrooms and sundried tomatoes. Bought Swedish strawberries and fresh peaches and various snacks. Jessica is bringing cheeses, potatoes, "sill" (=herring), sallad and various other bits and pieces. The most important thing of all - rosé wine! :)

Have to jump in the shower now to get ready. We're meeting up in Rålambshovsparken at 13 and I think we're more than 20 people altogether :) Jonas, Chrille, Holger and his friends might show up later as well. I'm really looking forward to this day, gonna bring my camera and take plenty of pictures.

Sunny Thursday

Woke up at 8 after a lovely sleep. Have just had breakfast and soon I'm gonna go out for a long run in the beautiful weather :) When I'm back I have a lot of work to do so will need to sit down to get it done. I also hope to have some time to do a bit of sun bathing around lunch time. Tonight I'm meeting up with sweetest little Monika and we're gonna take a walk around Kungsholmen which I'm really looking forward to. Before that I need to do some food shopping as I promised Jessica I would make meat balls and a quiche for us for tomorrow. God I wish there was more time in a day, I never seem to have enough of it anyway ;)

12 hrs

My God, I was extremely tired last night and went to bed at 20:00!!! Fell asleep straight away and slept for 12 hours :) Obviously I needed to catch up on my sleep. Felt much better today and from now on I'm gonna try not to fall behind the way I did. Just home from work now, have been sitting in a workshop all day again. Tomorrow I'm working from home and then on Friday we're off :) Hopefully myself and Lena will find a sun holiday so that we can leave on Monday next week but we still haven't found the perfect one so we'll wait for a few more days before we decide where and when to go. I hope I don't have to come into work on Monday but if we're not leaving until later on next week then I will have to come in.

Got my hd-box back yesterday so now it's nice to watch telly again :) I must have been without it for about 2 months. First it took me ages to send it back when it broke down and then I didn't have time to pick it up when it had arrived. Oh well, things are back to the way the were now anyway and that is the main thing!

Just received a text from Lina, haven't spoken to her in ages. It was really scary cause when I drove home I was thinking about her and that I have to get in touch and then a few mins later I receive a text from her :)

Early night

Today I'm definitely gonna have an early night, I'm sooooo tired. It has been a long day in work as well and it's gonna be the same tomorrow so I better get some sleep. Seems like the summer weather has visited Stockholm this week, the sun has been shining all day today and it has been really nice. I really hope the weather will be as good for Midsummer. On Thursday I might be working from home and on Friday we're gonna celebrate in Rålambshovsparken, really looking forward to it :)

Mary Kay products

Sunday night and soon time to go to bed. I went out for a run around Lillsjön earlier and ran about 7 kilometres. After a long nice shower I wanted to try out all my new Mary Kay products that were delivered to me yesterday by Lina. I used the satin smoothie hand scrub on my hands and my feet and I really like it, the skin really feels smooth :) I've also used all the various creams for my face and I love my shower gel as well, smells like candy! I'm definitely gonna bring that with me on my sun holiday in a week.

Gorgeous little Benjamin

I'm just back home from Rågsved where I spent the night with my cousin Kim, Lisa and Benjamin. They invited us over for dinner last night and we had a great time as always. I came over at around 16:00 since I wanted to play with Benjamin a bit, I haven't seen him for a few months and I had really missed him. My God he has grown, he's a little boy now and not a baby anymore.

When I first came I think he was a bit shy, I brought a present with me since he has turned 1 and when we showed it to him he started bawling the poor thing. Also when I tried to talk to him and smiled away he was crying his eyes out. But after a few minutes it started to get better and he was crawling around me :) Thank God, I really thought he didn't like me anymore! ;)

Birthday dinner

Yesterday I left work earlier with Lena as we wanted to visit the "Bondelid/Glas Göran" sale at Fridhemsplan. 50-70% on all the clothes is not bad. Not that I was going to shop but I had to have a look and it was Lena who dragged me there ;) (ok, that was a bit of a lie)

To be honest I didn't think that they had that many nice things but I did find a pair of Clas Göran jeans and I really like them. I've had a pair before that I wore nearly every day but in the end they were so worn that they actually ripped and I had to throw them out. This time I bought I dark blue pair of jeans and the material was quite shiny so they're really nice.

After the sale it was time to head into town as we were meeting up with all the girls at Berns Asiatiska to have a birthday dinner for Lisa. We had a lovely time and the food was so nice, the put together all sorts of dishes for us so we were extremely full in the end. The best thing was probably the chocolate fondue that Maria and I had for dessert :) So nice!

Home sweet home

I'm finally back in Bromma again, feels good :) It has been a great Denmark trip but after a few days away, you're always looking forward to going home. I came home to a tidy apartment which was nice, that never really happens ;)

Watching the football match between France and Mexico right now, don't feel like doing anything else. Just thinking about the fact that it is Friday tomorrow again, it's crazy. Was hoping for nice weather for the weekend but it looks like it's gonna be raining :( Gonna go out for dinner tomorrow night with Lisa and friends since it's her birthday (the big 30)!

Sunny Copenhagen

The weather is really nice in Copenhagen today, it's sunny :) Maria and I went out for a walk at lunch time and I didn't want to go back in. Slept really well last night and got up at around 07:00. Got ready and went down for breakfast, Maria and I had decided to meet up at 07:30. I was a few minutes late but when I came down I didn't see her anywhere and Maria is always on time.. Sat down to eat and waited for her but she just didn't show up. Rang her twice but no answer. When I was done, I asked for her room number so I went upstairs to knock on her door. After a few mins the door opened and I very sleepy Maria looked out ;) She had overslept, he he.

This evening 6 of us are going out for dinner together to a place called Pate pate I think. I'm really looking forward to it but before we meet up with the rest, we're gonna go shopping again. Maria asked her husband to transfer even more money to her account so that she can buy some more clothes :) I'm gonna try to only do some window shopping myself ;)

Lovely dinner with a lovely colleague

Just back from a lovely dinner that myself and Maria enjoyed, we went to an Italian restaurant tonight. I had a gorgeous penne al salmone with cherry tomatoes & leek in a white wine sauce. Maria had entrecote with bernaise sauce and potatoes. Maria really felt like going shopping tonight and actually found a lot of nice tops in one of the few shops that were open, they had a sale on so she got 50% off everything. I didn't buy anything - guys did you hear that?? ;) I'm so proud of myself!!

Need more sleep

Got up at 04:15 this morning, felt like I hadn't slept at all. It was as if I had only closed my eyes and then it was time to get up again :( Packed the last few things and headed off in a taxi to Arlanda, picked up my colleague Maria on the way.

Tonight we're gonna try to work out in the gym, they have training facilities at the hotel so I brought some gym gear with me. After that we will need to have some dinner but then I think it's time for me to head to bed, can't wait to hit the pillow to be honest. Need to prepare a few things for Thursday but I will have to do it tomorrow instead I reckon, I don't have the energy for it today..

Thinking a lot about our holiday in two weeks time, bought some sun cream and after sun yesterday so I'm all ready for 7 days on the beach :) It's gonna be great, I wonder where we'll end up. Greece would be nice and I haven't been there for so long, but you never know. We will have to wait for another while before we book anything. If you go for a last minute trip, then you'll just have to wait til the last minute as well ;)

Denmark tomorrow

I've had a lovely evening with Louise, Maria and Lina tonight. Louise had invited us over for dinner and she served salmon with a lovely summery potato sallad. We also had lemon tart for dessert :) Lina had come over to show us some Mary Kay products and I must say I liked most of the stuff that we got to try. I didn't have to buy anything but of course I ordered a lot of stuff, so typical of me :S

It is now 23:50 and I haven't packed yet. Tomorrow I'm heading over to Denmark for 3 days. I'm taking the 06:50 flight from Arlanda so I probably won't get more than 4 hours of sleep. I'm still tired from the weekend as I didn't sleep that much Saturday night so I'm gonna be wrecked!

Fantastic birthday dinner

I've enjoyed a fantastic dinner tonight at my parents house. This is what was on the menu:

Starter: Lobster and champagne - yum!
Main course: Fillet steak, potatoes and sallad
Dessert: Strawberries with cream and coffee

With the main course we had a gorgeous Amarone wine :)

I'm really tired now as I didn't sleep much last night. The Kiss konsert was absolutely brilliant, I really enjoyed it and the rest of the night. These guys still know how to rock it ;)

Tomorrow is Monday and I have a lot of work to do this week. On Tuesday I'm heading to Denmark and I'm staying there til Thursday. The original plan was to go there Wednesday evening and stay there until Thursday but there are more meetings I need to attend which means I don't have that much time to prepare for the Thursday meeting. I hope I'll be able to catch up on my sleep tonight, staying over in Täby and going straight to work in the morning. Good night everyone!

Happy Birthday brother

Today I slept til 9:30 but when I woke up I decided to stay in bed to read my book for a while. I love when you don't have to get up straight away, you have to time to do whatever you feel like doing :) Stayed in bed for about an hour, then dad rang and we had a little chat. Got up and made breakfast; avocado on bread, orange juice and coffee. After that I rang my brother Jens who turns 28 today. My god, my little brother is getting nearer 30 as well ;) Tomorrow we're heading out to Täby Kyrkby to celebrate both him and my dad who turns 60 on Monday. Gonna stay over so that we can have some wine with the food, I think fillet steak is on the menu!

Tonight I'm gonna see Kiss at Stadion, can't wait for that. The only thing is that the weather forecast is rain and more rain :( I hope it won't rain too much, but I'm gonna bring my rain coat just in case. Don't want to get soaking wet. After the concert I hope to go out for a while. Loppan and friends hopefully want to grab a beer afterwards. Jonas and his friends are also gonna be out and about but don't know where they're thinking of going yet. I'm sure it will be a good night anyway, looking forward to it!

The World Cup

Finally Friday, feels great to be off work for 2 days again :) The world cup in South Africa has started!!! I will definitely follow the world cup as much as I can, love watching football. It's a pity that Sweden is not participating, but perhaps good for my heart since it's so nerve wracking (how do you spell that word??) following your own team ;)

I wonder who will win... I reckon Spain will get very far anyway but we'll see :)

The weather has been awful today, stupid me put on a white pair of jeans this morning but the rain made them dirty straight away when I was walking to the car :( Had a lovely breakfast when I arrived at work so that made up for it though. At lunch time myself and Lena went to the gym together. She was on the cross trainer and I went on the threadmill and we both gave it loads today! Afterwards we had a lovely sallad and then it was time to head up for some work. On Fridays we always have a coffee break at 14:30 and the company serves us various cakes, buns, pies etc. Today scones were on the menu but I didn't want that so tried to be good and just had a cup of coffee. Only two weeks to go now (or two and a half) and myself and Lena will be on our way to the sun! Can't wait!

Pink bowl

I've seen a lovely bowl and a serving dish (for cakes) that I want, they're pink :) Cervera sells them and I saw them when I passed by Cervera in town last weekend. I will have to add them to my wish list!

SATC 2

Today after work I went in to town to meet up with lovely little M and her sister. We had a bite to eat and then we went to the cinema to watch Sex & the City 2. I loved the film, it was exactly what I thought it would be. A "feel good" kind of film :)

Before I headed into town I went to Alvik to pick up my new camera :D I'm currently charging the battery, can't wait to start taking picture. It is slightly smaller than I imagined it so I think it will be perfect for me. Easy to manage - I hope!

Tomorrow is Friday - again! Where does the time go?? Tomorrow I'm just gonna take it easy after work, cook something nice for dinner and just chill out. I'll probably go for a run before that though, I'm really getting into the training again and I'm loving it!

Segway pics

Segway Tour

Have had a brilliant afternoon and evening, just home now and feeling really tired. Took the tube from Sundbyberg into town and when we got to Kungsträdgården we found out that we were all gonna go on a guided segway tour out to Djurgården. I was really scared getting on the segway and thought it was difficult to keep my balance but after a couple of minutes I realised that it wasn't so hard to ride the segway after all :) I had so much fun, loved going fast on that thing. On our way to Djurgården I'm going at quite a high speed talking away to Jessica not really paying attention to what is happening in front of me... When I look ahead I suddenly see that the others have stopped and I have to lean back so hard to be able to stop my segway. Didn't really manage to do it in time so I kind of fell over to the side and ran into a standing bike....woops! No damage done though, so I got up and kept going ;)

After the tour we were all really hungry so we went to a restaurant and enjoyed a lovely tapas meal. It has been a great Wednesday but now it's time to go to bed!

Team Event

In 15 mins we're heading off for a CS team event, I was invited along by Gabriella and didn't say no :) Don't have a clue about what we're doing because it is a secret but we're gonna be outdoors anyway and later on we're having dinner together somewhere in town, looking forward to it! :)
