Vårruset

Here is another layout that I created last Friday with a photo of me and Lillemor from Vårruset. It was such a lovely evening and Lena was there to support us :)

I used a sketch created by Emmeli for this one

The result

Day 05 - My definition of love

Make you feel my love
Lyrics: Bob Dylan

When the rain is blowing in your face
And the whole world is on your case
I could offer you a warm embrace
To make you feel my love

When the evening shadows and the stars appear
And there is no one there to dry your tears
I could hold you for a million years
To make you feel my love

I know you haven’t made your mind up yet
But I would never do you wrong
I’ve known it from the moment that we met
No doubt in my mind where you belong

I’d go hungry, I’d go black and blue
I’d go crawling down the avenue
There’s nothing that I wouldn’t do
To make you feel my love

The storms are raging on the rollin’ sea
And on the highway of regret
The winds of change are blowing wild and free
You ain’t seen nothing like me yet

I could make you happy, make your dreams come true
Nothing that I wouldn’t do
Go to the ends of the earth for you
To make you feel my love

To me this song beautifully describes true love. Love between two people is such an amazing thing and when the feelings are mutual it's just the best feeling in the world. It's something you can't really control. You just can't help feeling the way you do, you're drawn to somebody and your heart is leading the way.

Some words that I associate with love are:

♥ heart beat
♥ butterflies
♥ attraction
♥ 2 become 1
♥ passion
♥ romance
♥ chemistry
♥ affection
♥ respect
♥ trust
♥ friendship
♥ honesty
♥ loyalty
♥ intimacy
♥ unconditional

Love is precious. Take care of it.

Day 04 – This is what I ate today

I'm sure you're all very excited to hear about what I've been eating today ;) Before I had breakfast I started the day by walking into work, I love walking when it's cold outside and believe me it was cold this morning. I walked quite fast and worked up an appetite and every Monday morning we get served breakfast in work. I had bread with ham, cheese and cucumber together with a cup of coffee and a glass of apple juice - yum!

At lunch time Jessica and I walked in to Sundbyberg since she wanted to have a look in a few shops. We then had lunch at Åhlens and we both ordered baked potatoes :) After a quick cup of coffee it was time to go back to the office again!

Walked back home this evening after work and since I was freezing I decided to take a hot shower before I jumped into my tracksuit bottoms and started with the dinner. Tonight I had thai soup with some peppers and prawns as well as bread with mozzarella cheese, tomatoes and some balsamic vinegar creme.

I'm thinking about making a cup of tea in a few minutes and then I'm gonna watch an episode of True Blood. Hope you've all had a nice Monday! :)

Day 03 – My childhood dreams

I don't remember having that many dreams when I was younger, I probably had lots of dreams but I can't recall them very well ;) Of course I was wondering about the future and thinking about what I was going to be when I grew up. I've always liked sports so many of my dreams included sports in some way.

One of my first dreams was probably one where I dreamt of becoming a professional alpine skiier. I told you previously that I went to Idre Fjäll once a year with my family and I loved going to ski school. At the end of the week there was always some type of contest and I always gave it loads ;) I recall winning a slalom contest once and I was so proud when I was called up to collect my prize afterwards! Slalom and giant slalom were my favourite skiing disciplines.

Another dream I had was to become a professional soccer player. I started playing football when I was 8 and continued on until I was about 16. During these years I played in two teams, I first joined IK Frej but later on when the girls -79 team decided to stop I joined Vallentuna BK in order to be able to continue playing. The new team was much better and we played in the top league. I had to train very hard to make sure I had a place in the team when it was time for a match. I remember these matches quite well and I managed to score quite a lot of goals :) I played as a midfielder on the left wing even though I'm not left footed. I've always been interested in soccer and it could be due to the fact that I've been growing up with my male cousins and my brother playing lots and LOTS of soccer every summer. Soccer has been a big part of our lives and we watched a lot of matches on TV as well. Naturally I also dreamt about representing the Swedish team some day. I don't know what happened but I didn't quite get there ;)

Trip to Denmark with Vallentuna BK soccer team - Can you spot me? ;)

My girls

This is one of the 4 layouts that I created on Friday, I like the way the colours blend in this layout and I like the photos of me and my girls :)

Day 02 – My parents

Time to introduce you to my parents; Monica and Ray. They're the best parents in the world and have always been there for me and my brother. ♥ They've always gone out of their way to make sure we're happy with whatever that might be. They were the kind of parents that would ALWAYS help out by driving the team members of football and hockey teams to various locations when it was time for a match!

My mam Monica is from Åland and moved to Stockholm when she was about 20 years old. She's working as a Doctor's secretary at a health care unit in Stockholm and I was working there as well during the summers from the age of 13 to make some own money :) My mam is one of the most thoughtful people I've ever met and she always puts everyone else first, she tends to forget about herself some time though. She worries way too much, too much for her own good or anyone else around her. She lives through her children and therefore you're always careful with what you're telling her. If you're not feeling too good and going through a bad patch in life, then you know that if you tell her about it she's also gonna be feeling down and you don't want that. She's a fantastic person and mother with a big heart and I love her to bits!

My dad Ray grew up in Stockholm and he met my mam on a holiday trip to Mallorca back in the days :) He is very stubborn and this is one of the qualities that I've gotten from him. When we have a discussion, we could easily end up fighting since neither of us wants to give in. When I was younger I thought he didn't like me as much as he liked my brother due to this. I know better now, when I moved to Ireland our relationship grew a lot stronger and I think we started to understand each other a bit more. Still to this day his first answer to any type of question would be "No!", but we all know that he will most probably change his mind after a little while ;) Dad has also a very big heart and I really appreciate everything he has done for me throughout the years, I love him loads!

Mam and dad have been together for about 40 years and they celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary when we were in Mauritius in January 2009 (see photo above). I'm so happy to be a part of their lives!

Day 01 – Introducing myself

So.. I've decided to go for the 30 day challenge after all.. I reckon it's gonna be more difficult than I first thought but I think you just have to throw yourself into it so here we go - part 1:

I was born on the 20th of July 1979 at Danderyds Sjukhus and I grew up in Täby Kyrkby together with my parents and my little brother. My name is Katja Martina Tedmar and my name was quite unusual at least when I was younger and this made me feel just a wee bit special ;)

The first school I went to was located about 200 metres away from our house so I could run over to the class room in a few seconds every morning. As far as I remember I was a very happy child with no worries :) I used to play a lot with a girl called Anna who was one year younger than me and lived in the same street. Our parents used to hang out and we used to go on skiing trips to Idre Fjäll together. I think I started skiing when I was about 4 and I absolutely loved it from the first moment. We went skiing week 11 every year :)

As I grew older things got tougher, it's definitely not easy to be a teenager ;) I grew up with the skin condition eczema which caused very dry skin on my hands and in my face, especially in the winter time. Kids can be quite mean so I was bullied in school and people were whispering around me. This continued on until the age of 14 and although it wasn't fun, I think it has made me a stronger person!

Since my mam is from Åland and her family still lives there, we spent every summer on this beautiful island. We got to play with our cousins and among other things we went to the beach, cycled everywhere, played football, went fishing, played cards and other games, watched films with granddad of when we were younger and so much more! I loved spending time over there :)

I graduated from high school (Åva Gymnasium - Science Programme with Biology and Environmental studies) year 1998. My friend Maria and I had decided to go to Dublin for a year to learn English better and to get a break from the studies. We both ended up staying in Dublin for 7 years! I remember that my parents weren't too happy when I announced that I wasn't coming back when the first year was up ;)

It was a very good experience to go abroad and to manage everything yourself. Maria and I grew up quickly and at the same time we had the time of our lives :) The Irish know how to party and we made a lot of friends, most of them I still keep in contact with today and they mean a lot to me. During my years in Dublin, my eczema got worse. A lot worse actually. I went to Hume Street Skin and Cancer Hospital for a couple of years and was on quite strong medication in order to keep it under control. There were times when I just could've given up. But I didn't. When I later on had finnished college and started thinking about moving back home again, the fact that the climate over there isn't very good for my skin was a big reason as to why I decided to move back to Sweden in the end!

I've now been living in Sweden since June 2005 and I must say there's no place like home. ♥ I miss my friends in Dublin and I love going back now and again, but I don't miss living there - it was definitely the right decision to move back.

Today I'm working in Supply Chain/Customer Service as a SAP super user for order to invoice processes. I really like my job and I enjoy going into work. My colleagues make me laugh and the team is very close, we're like a big family!

I consider myself a happy, loving, caring and honest person. What you see is what you get and I can be quite emotional at times. I truly treasure my friends and family, they mean the world to me. I would never try to be anyone else, I'll always be me whether you like it or not. I'm doing the outmost to be true to myself and everyone around me and I always follow my heart!

Do what you love and love what you do ♥

New layout

Haven't done any scrapbooking for about two weeks so I was dying to dig into it again. Created a layout with a photo from when I visited Emmeli and the kids in May, love this picture :)

The happy family :)

Gingerbread factory

Mildas gigantic gingerbread factory has now been build up at the Central station in Stockholm. Almost a ton of dough has been used to create the walls and roof. The Gingerbread factory is open from today until Sunday 10-18.

Emily Kate Brady

Yesterday at 17:51 Kevin and Anne Marie welcomed their new family member Emily Kate Brady to the world weighing 6lbs 8oz. She came 2 weeks early and she's named after Kev, Dec and Ruth's grandmother. Everything went well and everybody is in good form. I'm delighted for you all - big congrats! Hoping to be able to fly over in the new year to see you :)

30 day challenge

I'm seriously considering the 30 day challenge which means that I would write 30 blog posts, one each day with pre-defined topics. My blog friend Linda challenged me as she's taking on the exact same challenge but I'm wondering if I'll be able to do it and if I'll have something to write about for each topic, I would definitely have to push myself. The topics that I would write about are the following (I've copied them from Linda's blog):

Day 01 – Introduce myself
Day 02 – My parents
Day 03 – My childhood dreams
Day 04 – This is what I ate today
Day 05 – My definition of love
Day 06 – My day (in detail)
Day 07 – My best friend(s)
Day 08 – Hobbies and talents
Day 09 – My beliefs
Day 10 – This is what I was wearing today
Day 11 – My siblings
Day 12 – Favourite wardrobe items
Day 13 – Photo(s) from my childhood
Day 14 – In my handbag
Day 15 – A favourite memory
Day 16 – Friends from the past
Day 17 – My dreams
Day 18 – Memories of a birthday
Day 19 – My regrets
Day 20 – Confessions of a shop-a-holic
Day 21 – A photo of me taken more than 10 years ago
Day 22 – This upsets me
Day 23 – This makes me feel good
Day 24 – This makes me cry
Day 25 – My fears
Day 26 – I swear! It's a true story!
Day 27 – My favourite place
Day 28 – This is what I miss
Day 29 – My dreams and ambitions
Day 30 – My love

If I decide to go for it, I guess you'll all get to know me a bit better and I promise that I'll be very honest. We'll see if I have the courage to do it, it frightens me a little bit ;)

Advent

I've made my own Advent candle holder this year and can't wait to light the first candle on Sunday :) Where did the time go? Can't believe it's this time of the year again!

I survived

I'm back home again and survived what I thought was gonna be a really bad flight back but it wasn't. Of course there was a bit of turbulence but I've had worse experiences. Rang Lena as soon as I got home since she's sick and we haven't talked since last week. Hope you get better soon darling!

Will have to go to bed soon and I'm really looking forward to sleep in my own bed!

Overslept

Woke up this morning at 8:46 and realised that our workshop started in 14 minutes. I jumped out of bed, got dressed and almost ran to the office. I was about 15 mins late so it wasn't that bad after all. Had to skip breakfast though so at 13:00 when it was time for lunch I was absolutely starving!!!

Haven't overslept for years but today was the day apparently ;)

Shitty weather

The weather is horrible in Denmark. It's raining, it's cold and it's really windy :( It's even cold in my room and I'm stuck here in this crappy hotel. BUT, I get to go home again tomorrow already!! I had planned to be in Denmark all week but the workshops on Thursday and Friday are gonna be telco workshops so I've re-booked my flight and will get back tomorrow night :) Maria is coming over tomorrow morning so she'll keep me company for the day!

Sjung nu-kören Himlen är oskyldigt blå. Filadelfiakyrkan nov 2010

Denmark week

This week I'm working in Denmark. New project, new workshops. Here we go again ;) Luckily I didn't have to get up too early this morning, I think I was up at 6:15 which isn't too bad considering I was flying out from Arlanda this morning. I'm getting a bit tired now but that is always the case when I'm travelling. Still sitting in the office chatting away but soon I'm gonna head back to the hotel.

I'm not looking forward to staying in the hotel I've booked. The rooms are really small, but that I don't mind. The problem is that the bathroom is TINY, I wouldn't even call it a bathroom and the worst thing of all is that the shower is crap. I will not be able to wash my hair in the hotel so I'm keeping my fingers crossed I can use Anita's bathroom when we're meeting up one of the nights this week. We've been talking about having a girlie night and perhaps we'll have time to make some jewellery since she has the same hobby as myself. The best thing of all is that she has millions of pearls, brads and all kinds of material and she has really good taste ;) Hopefully I can buy something off her and I'm also hoping to get some inspiration.

Too seconds ago I heard this loud "Tjingeling". I looked up and saw my friend and colleague Peter :D He always makes me smile, he's a fantastic person!

Concert in Filadelfiakyrkan

In a few minutes I'm gonna drive into Filadelfiakyrkan since we have a rehearsal session at 14:00. At 19:00 tonight the concert starts and I'm getting excited about it now. There are still some lyrics that I haven't got the hang of, but I'm hoping that I can just go with the flow ;) My parents and Sofia & Maria are coming to watch us tonight so I better be able to show off!

Hairdresser

Today I've been to my hairdresser Emma and she did my hair lovely as always. There is more brown in it now, a lovely warm brown colour, but I'm still blonde :) After I had been there I had to go to Bromma blocks to get a housewarming present for Kim and Lisa. I'm heading there for dinner tonight and thought it would be nice to bring a little present. This time it's not only my brother and I that come over for dinner, Tomas and his girlfriend are coming too. We haven't seen them for many years so I'm looking forward to catching up!

Beautiful Venice

Wanna show you a layout that I created last weekend with photos from when Maria and I visited Venice this summer.
