Lazy Sunday

Today I haven't done much. Emilia woke up at 5:20 (!!) this morning and didn't want to go back to sleep so F got up with her and I stayed in bed like I normally do at the weekends since I always get up to feed her twice per night and need to catch up on my sleep at some stage. 5:20 is way too early though so I felt sorry for F actually. Emilia didn't sleep much at all after that so when I went downstairs to see them, she was really tired and cranky. F looked exhausted so I took Emilia and ordered him to go upstairs to sleep, while E and I went out for a walk in the sunny weather. We were out for about an hour and a half and it was so refreshing. E slept for about two hours then and she really needed it.

Later this afternoon I went to the grocery store to do some food shopping, I have now planned dinners for every night this week because I'm sick of having to think of what to have for dinner every single day and I don't like having to go out food shopping with E.

This afternoon myself and F have played with E who didn't want to sleep at all since 14:30. When I fed her at around 18:00 the "lights went out" completely and she is now fast asleep in her bed. She's very good sleeping in her own room, we just have to make it a little bit more cosy. I'm waiting for some furniture that we have ordered to arrive and we also have to find some time to put up the wallpaper that we got for her. It's a lovely Nina Campbell wallpaper with butterflies on a green background called farfalla.

Now I'm relaxing on the couch while F has gone to play some tennis with a friend. I'm gonna go to the bathroom in a second to have a long warm shower and I'm gonna put on a face mask and pamper myself a little bit. Tomorrow is a new week and we have a doctor's appointment regarding E's skin, I'm meeting up with my friend Monika on Wednesday and we haven't seen each other for years so I'm really looking forward to that and I'm also meeting up with two other mams (they're coming to our house) on Thursday.

E has been sick for about two weeks now. It started with her having a fever and a bad stomach two weeks ago. Last Sunday she got a cold and she's been sneezing and coughing all week. This weekend she has been coughing up a lot of mucus and I'm wondering if she has caught the rs virus. I don't know but I'm a bit suspicious so we're gonna see if the doctor can take a test tomorrow. She has been alert and eating well though, so it hasn't been too bad but I really want her to be well now my poor little girl. If it isn't the rs virus then it's a really nasty cold and I want her to get rid of it now!

Two year anniversary

Last Sunday F and I celebrated being together for two years. We first met at Fashion Cafe in Sundbyberg a cold February night 2011 where we enjoyed each other's company while having a few drinks. I remember it like it was yesterday, at the same time it feels like such a long time ago. We know each other so well now and have done so many things together. 2012 was a big year for us since Emilia entered this world and we also bought and moved into our house. I'm so grateful for my little family and for having the best boyfriend in the whole world. He's so thoughtful and caring and makes me extremely happy.

To celebrate, F had asked his mam to mind Emilia while we were having dinner at Kalaset Corner in Abrahamsberg together. It's a very small restaurant but they do really really good food. I had risotto with lobster and tiger prawns for my main course and it was so delicious. I really enjoyed spending time with my darling as well, it was a lovely evening!

There's no stopping her now

This week my little girl has seriously learnt how to turn herself around from her back to her stomach. She does it over and over again as soon as I lay her down on her back. My first thought was; Good girl, I'm so proud of you! and Emilia was really happy about it as well. But now I realise that there's a drawback. A minute or so after she has turned around she gets really pissed off as she now wants to crawl but doesn't know how to do it. She starts crying and I'm trying to put her back into her start position. But then she gets pissed off about that and starts crying again. Before I used to be able to lay her down on a blanket on the floor and she could stay there playing for about an hour or so. Now she gives me about two minutes before she starts screaming!

Not well

Our little girl has not been well for the past few days but she's slowly getting back to her normal self. It started on Sunday with fever and Monday morning she had a fever of 39,2 degrees. She was crying all day Monday and I didn't know what to do to make her happy. Yesterday was not a great day either but today was better. She has no fever anymore but her stomach is still iffy, I hope it gets better.

The past three weeks I have avoided anything with milk as we thought Emilia might be allergic to milk protein. Well I never thought so myself but agreed to give it a try to see if her dry skin gets better. I haven't really noticed any difference to be honest, perhaps her skin is slightly better but I think that is because we have put on the Miniderm cream as well every morning and evening. The milk free formula that we have been giving her has not been popular and sometimes she refuses to take the bottle. It has slowly gotten worse and in the last few days there has been a battle almost every single time I'm giving her the bottle. Today F and I agreed that I would start introducing milk again to see if anything happens, even though we have an appointment with a childrens doctor in two weeks and I said I would stay off the milk until then. I had yoghurt this morning and milk in my coffee this afternoon and I haven't noticed anything different with her skin. Hopefully I can start giving her the standard formula milk again (which is much sweeter than the milk free one) and I'll have a happier baby and no more food battles ;)

F and I are still working on getting our house into shape and we're slowly getting there (well we have a million projects to do in the house but at least we're starting to get that cosy feeling about our house). Our new project is now to do Emilia's room and we started by putting in some furniture last weekend. Since Saturday, she's sleeping in her own room and she has been so good. We're gonna put up some shelves and paintings and also put up wallpaper on one wall before it's ready (green with butterflies that I picked for her :)). As soon as we're happy with the room I promise to take some pictures that I'll show you. I'm hoping it will be as good as I imagine it will be!
