Last boat trip for the season

Last weekend we took the last boat trip for the season when we moved the boat from Fisksätra over to Margeretelundsvarvet in Bromma. F is going to have the boat in Bromma over the winter instead of Dalarö where he had it last year. It's gonna be much nicer as it will be closer and we can keep an eye on it in a better way. It was about 10 degrees last Saturday so it wasn't very warm. My brother joined us as well and the three of us were freezing when we finally arrived at Margeretelundsvarvet :)

Tomorrow we're gonna make the boat ready for the winter so we have a bit of work ahead of us. Luckily the weather forecast looks good for the weekend with warm winds and a bit of sunshine :) I also have to do my homework for the Italian course, I reckon I will have to spend a few hours on it. Tonight I'm meeting up with Ellinor, Camilla and Maria for an after work at restaurant 1900 - I'm looking forward to it!

Yet another lovely day in paradise..

..well, at least in the Swedish archipelago :) On Tuesday we took F's mam, auntie and the dog out on a boat trip. The weather was ok, but it was a bit chilly and quite cloudy. We decided to go to Brunnsviken first and when we arrived this big dark cloud suddenly appeared from nowhere. I thought that it was gonna start raining but luckily the cloud swept away within about half an hour. Out came the sun and we all jumped into our swimming shorts and bikinis :) It was 22,5 degrees in the water but I didn't actually jump in that day, instead I did a lot of sunbathing and got a bit of a colour. I'm preparing for our trip to Sicily on Tuesday ;) We had some wine and strawberries and thoroughly enjoyed the weather and each other's company.

After being there for a few hours we left to go to the restaurant Rökeriet at Fjäderholmarna. We had the most gorgeous dinner (again!) and shared a bottle of white wine. It was sunny at first but then it started raining just before it was time to go home. Luckily there is a cover for the boat that we put on so that we could sit under it without getting soaked. It was such a lovely day and everybody was in good form, even the dog Freja! When we came back to the harbour where we have the boat, I spotted the rainbow :)

Visit to Storön, Runmarö

On Saturday F and I decided to pay Storön a vist where my colleague Petra was going to spend the weekend with her M. First we went to Solna Centrum to get some things done but early afternoon we drove to the boat and were ready for a trip towards Storön near Runmarö. The weather was lovely that day and there were loads of boats in the water. At Strömma Kanal we stopped to get petrol and the idea was to have lunch there. However, the place was crowded and apparently there was a race on which probably made people stop off there as well. We realised we weren't gonna get a seat so we decided to just get a roll in the café. We went trough Strömma kanal and stopped the engine just after. Then we had a rolls and enjoyed a glass of rosé wine together in the sun. We checked the temperature in the water and it was actually 23 degrees, a temparature that even made me want to jump into the water ;)

Later on it was time to head towards Petra, we weren't sure exactly where her place was but she had given us directions beforehand. We found it no problem but I had to ring her since I wasn't sure which house was hers :) We left the boat and went up to the house where we all had some wine and snacks. It was a lovely evening and her house is on a hill so you had a fantastic view over the water. After chatting to each other for a couple of hours while consuming some more wine they thought it was best to cook some dinner. We didn't expect anything like that when we came over but they served both starters and a main course. For starters we had a salmon tartare which was aboslutely gorgeous and for main course we had some barbequed beef together with a lovely potato sallad. There was a lot of laughter and we stayed until close to midnight before it was time for F and I to take the boat home. All in all a brilliant start to my holidays!

Boat trip to Grinda

On Saturday we decided to take the boat to Grinda, we weren't sure what the weather was gonna be like but headed out anyway. It was very warm but cloudy when we drove towards the boat and we were afraid there was gonna be thunder. The weather got better and better though and it turned out to be one of the best summer days so far! I thoroughly enjoyed being on the boat (as always) and it looked like others enjoyed it as much, there were loads of people out with their boats that day!

When we got to Grinda we stopped the boat and threw out the anchor. Fredrik jumped into the sea as soon as we got there but I wasn't sure I wanted to do any swimming since I think that the water is so cold, it has to be closer to 30 degrees for me to jump in ;) Anyway, after sunbathing for a while I thought it was time to get into the freezing water anyway ...ok it was 19 degrees but that is way too cold for my liking. After about 15 minutes I jumped in and yes it was cold but quite nice after all!

Later on in the afternoon we went to the harbour with the boat to be able to go to Grinda Wärdshus - framfickan for lunch. I had a lovely fish burger and we both enjoyed a cold beer and a glass of rosé wine in the heat! Afterwards we went back to the boat and took a little power nap before it was time to head home again. We were so tired after being out all day so we fell asleep at 23:00 that evening and slept until 11 o'clock the next day ;)

Fantastic Wednesday Night

Don't you just love evenings like these, the weather has been perfect in the last coupe of days. On Tuesday night myself and F went to Mälarpaviljongen to have dinner and there we bumped into Louise and Maria :) We all had a great time together and walked down to Boulebar afterwards to buy some ice cream (ice cream is a must when the weather is like this!). Yesterday I left work a bit earlier and went into Nybrokajen where F came to pick me up with the boat. I enjoyed every minute being on the boat. First we went to Villa Källhagen, where we stopped the boat and subathed in the evening sun - it was lovely! After about an hour we moved on and decided to go to Restaurant Bryggan at Gåshaga for dinner. We hadn't booked a table but luckily we didn't have to wait long until we got to sit down.

I ordered Bouillabaisse with home made garlic mayonaise and F had pork fillet. As always we talked about all and nothing while enjoying a lovely meal together as the sun was going down. It was such a lovely evening, one that I will think about this autumn when it's getting colder again and we're leaving the summer season. I'm slowly getting a holiday feeling now, I'm working one more week and then it's time for holidays for four weeks - can't wait!
