Summer / Holiday memory

The scrapbooking kit August challenge for Molly's Scrapbooking was to create something with the theme SUMMER and to pick a holiday memory. I chose to create a layout with two photos from when myself and F went to Hotel J by boat (F's boat that is now sold :() to have dinner at Restaurant J and to stay the night. It was my anniversary present for my darling. It was such a lovely day and one of the warmest days of this summer actually. We had such a lovely time and enjoyed each other's company while having a gorgeous dinner. This is definitely one of the nights I'll remember from this summer :)

Time for scrapbooking again

Yesterday, myself and F had a relaxing day - we didn't do anything in particular except going down to the supermarket to buy some crayfish for last night's party that we were invited to. It was so relaxing and I finally took time to do some scrapbooking again. I found a lovely photo of my brother taken at Arlanda airport about 10 years ago when he was doing the compulsory national/military service.

I used a kit from Mollys scrapbooking with material from Bo-Bunny's back to backs. Hopefully I'll have the time to continue doing some more layouts soon again because I really enjoyed it. The sketch (from Svensk Scrapbooking - August challenge) and my interpretation of it you can see below:

Different weekend

This weekend will soon come to an end and it feels like it hasn't even started. I think it's because of the lack of my darling. On Friday after work I went to a bodypump class before I headed home. I was really tired afterwards so I just made some dinner and headed for the couch where I watched The voice on telly. Yesterday morning I woke up at around 9 o'clock but stayed in bed for another hour. After that I made some breakfast and cleaned up in the apartment. My baby came home from Åre in the afternoon so I went to pick him up at his workplace. Later on last night we drove over to the Hellman's family in Vallentuna where we got to play with Benjamin and Elias again. Elias is getting bigger and stronger now and he's such a cutie. When we first came in he started crying when he saw me (I think it was the glasses) but after that we made a great connection :) Lisa & Kim had cooked lamb and it was very nice. They also served creme brulee for dessert, that's one of my favourites. We had a lovely time as always with a lot of laughter before it was time for us to head home again!

This morning myself and F got up at around 7:30 as he was meeting his colleagues at Arlanda around 9 (he's off to London this time). I gave him a lift out and had high hopes for the day but I was really tired afterwards so I've mostly watched TV today actually. I feel like doing some scrapbooking but I'll probably do that during the week instead. Below you can see a layout I created when myself and Emmeli were down in Enköping at a scrapbooking event last September. I used the material from the kit I received when I got down there and the photos are from last spring when F and I tried out the roller blades :)

Catch of the day

Right now I'm lying on the couch exhausted from the 10 km run I did on the threadmill after work. I've just watched Sofias Änglar on TV and ended up crying, the things that some people and families have to go through is unbelievable. Had a great day today in work, I'm feeling energized and I'm quite excited about the year ahead.

I thought I'd show you a layout that I did when I was down in Enköping in September for a scrapbooking event. I love the photos that I used in this layout and I'm happy with the format of the layout, the colours and the material that I used. The photos are from Sicily last July when F and I ordered lobster, prawns and fresh fish for dinner. The head chef let us pick and point on what we wanted :) We had such a good time in Sicily, I'm longing for the heat and the sun right now. Luckily it's now less than 7 weeks until we're going to the Maldives!

My love

Another layout I created last weekend was this one of a photo of me and F when we were out with the boat this spring. We went to Fjäderholmarna and sat out in the sun at restaurant Rökeriet. It's day I remember, there was nothing to complain about, absolutely nothing! :)

The cardstock paper was so nice in itself that I worked more with the decorations around the photo. I'm quite happy with it!

Scrapbooking challenge

During the weekend I found some time for scrapbooking and did two new layouts :) I started with the January layout challenge for Svensk Scrapbooking by interpreting the below sketch:

I found a couple of photos from last Easter when Maria, Marcus and F came over to my place for dinner. I had bought everyone an Easter egg and I think it was the first time Marcus and F met each other. My result looks like this:

New picture frames

The other day myself and F went to Ikea and bought some picture frames as I had a plan to do some scrapbooking over the weekend. I used two photos, one of me and one of F and they are both in black and white. Then I opened a scrapbooking kit from Molly's scrapbooking and used the papers and the material from that kit. Yesterday I was finished with the first layout and today I finished the second one. Both layouts are framed now and we're planning to hang them up on the wall. What do you think!?

Christmas Card

I made a Christmas card for F's mam that I gave her yesterday when we arrived. I used one of the kits from Molly's scrapbooking and embossed Santa Claus and the notes using embossing powder and a heat gun.

Sea life

Another layout that I created last weekend was for the Svensk Scrapbooking challenge. I used some photos from when we're out with the boat this summer. The material is from Molly's scrapbooking kit for November. I hope I'll find some more time for scrapbooking soon because I really enjoyed spending time on it last weekend!

Mollys November Challenge

This weekend I've spent a few hours on scrapbooking and I've really enjoyed it. I went to pick up the latest kit from Mollys scrapbooking on Friday and when I opened to see what it entailed I just couldn't wait to get going. I decided to take on the challenge for November and the theme is journalling. I did a layout with a photo from when I surprised F in June this year with dinner in town. It was a lovely summer's night and we stayed the night in Hotel Anglais, had champagne and really enjoyed each other's company. It was a night to remember!

Beef Fondue

Yesterday we were invited for dinner to my parents in Täby since it has been my mam's birthday recently and it is Father's day today. We were served beef fondue and it is one of my favourite dishes :) You cook the beef in oil in a special fondue pot. We had potato wedges with that and a few different sauces, it was so good! F had never had beef fondue before but he really liked it as well.

I had made two cards; one for dad and one for my mam. We gave dad a South African bottle of wine and mam got pictures of me and my brother to hang on the wall. She seemed really happy when she opened her present. It was a lovely evening and we stayed quite late, luckily I got to drink wine since F was driving ;)

This morning we took it easy and watched the repeat of Så mycket bättre on telly. This time it was Timbuktu to be in the headlights, he seems like a really nice guy and he makes great music. There are so many of his songs that I like and the others interpreted his songs very well.

Korean food

I've had a nice and relaxing weekend this weekend and I so needed it. On Saturday we went into town to have a look at all the marathon runners and I was hoping to get a glimpse of Lina and Hilton or Tuffy. It was quite cold on Saturday but I suppose it was great weather for the runners. After walking around the shops for a while (Note - I didn't buy anything, only a present for mam! ;)) we walked out to have a look at the runners. Where we stood the runners were on their second lap and had run around 29 kilometres. I think it's so impressive that so many people are able to run that distance. I mean I am so proud of doing half the distance and I can only imagine how sore your body must be after such a run. Anyway after standing there for half an hour to 45 minutes I finally noticed Lina and Hilton in the crowd and I was shouting and screaming to cheer them on - well done guys!

Yesterday we decided to head to IKEA, I haven't been there for ages. I bought some stuff that I have thinking of buying for a long time; a cake dish(!), lighter duvets for the summer, duvet covers and some candles. Later on in the afternoon we went to F's mam in Vällingby because we were having dinner there. Since it was Mother's Day F and his brother cooked some Korean food, it was my first time trying it and it was yummy :) I was so stuffed afterwards and I don't know how we managed to have blueberry pie as well before we left to go home!

Tonight I've been to Täby to have dinner with my parents and to celebrate Mother's Day. I had bought some marzipan chocolate and a Nuxe hand cream that I gave mam as well as a card that I had made!

Packing

Finally the time has come to say goodbye to work for a week and to greet Lanzarote. It has been a very stressful week so I'm extremely tired right now and I haven't even started with the packing. But I'm gonna get on with it straight away so that I can go to bed to get some sleep. We're getting up early tomorrow morning, the taxi will come to pick us up at 6:30 already.. Oh well, it's ok since we're on holidays! :)

I haven't done any scrapbooking for ages, hopefully I'll find some time for that when I get home again. I'm reading Em's creative side on a regular basis, it's such a nice scrapbooking blog and I get a lot of inspiration from my dear friend Emmeli. Today I stumbled upon a lovely layout that she has created and posted on her blog, see below:

Layout with photo from Vemdalen

Finally I took the time for some scrapbooking, it has been weeks since the last time and I've really missed it. I had material left from Molly's Scrapbooking kit for January so decided to use that and a photo from Vemdalen. We were there last year with work and on Thursday next week it's time for another ski trip with my lovely colleagues, this time we're heading to Duved/Åre and I'm really looking forward to it :)

I had ordered a mist spray in a dark turquoise colour, also from Molly's scrapbooking, so I decided to spray some of that on a white cardstock. The photo in this layout was taken when it was time for the yearly ski competition and we're all ready to go ;) I've added some things (like the white flowers, the grey scrapbooking paper and the pink, glittery fonts) on this layout from my own supplies but most of it is from the January kit. I got inspired by one of the layouts that my friend Emmeli has created and for the first time I decided to use my sewing machine as well.

Hopefully I'll have time to do some birthday cards today as well, there are a lot of birthdays coming up ;) Soon it's time for lunch and then I'm heading to the gym for a run. Haven't been there since Wednesday so I'm dying for a work out. I woke up with a sore throat on Thursday morning and decided not to risk anything, therefore I skipped the spinning class on Friday :( I think it was a good decision because now I'm feeling fine again and never got sick.

Last night myself, my brother and Maria had some dinner together in my apartment and we also watched the film Love and other drugs with Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway. I don't think Jake is that good looking normally but I really didn't mind looking at him last night ;) He is looking really well in this film. I cooked Bolognese with vegetable bulgur, a recipe that came with my last delivery from Middagsglädje. It was really nice and a bit different. Tonight it's time for the next delivery so time to cook again ;) I love getting inspiration and it's so handy to have all the food delivered to your door, then you just pick a recipe of your choice and follow it!

January challenge for Svensk Scrapbooking

Got to do a bit of scrapbooking yesterday again and decided to use the material from Molly's Scrapbooking kit to create a layout for the January challenge for Svensk Scrapbooking. I used two photos that Jonas took of me when we were in Oslo in January 2009. We went there to celebrate Morten on his birthday and we had just bought a new system camera that we tested frequently while exploring the city :)

The layout I created is quite dark, the cardstock is a greyish colour with a shiny finish and the other scrapbooking paper that I used the most is black with snow flakes in different colours. I've also used a tinsel in green that came with the January kit, a few punched butterflies in blue and I also cut out a couple of penguins that I placed in the middle of the layout to follow the sketch.

Molly's scrapbooking challenge for January

I've just completed a layout for the January challenge for Molly's scrapbooking. I picked up the monthly kit at the weekend and looked at the lovely material for a while before I had an idea of what to create. The photo I've used is from Åre last year of me and Maria. I think it was a perfect photo considering the winter theme and also the pink ski goggles since I had decided to use pink colours in the layout. Almost all of the material that I've used for this layout is from the January kit. However, I've added a couple of flowers. I also made retro punched flowers from a pink paper that was included in the kit. The glittery letters in pink are from the December kit and the dew drops in red and green that I've used for the flowers I had ordered additionally from Molly's. I have to say that I love the Prima winter branches, those are really the icing on the cake in this layout.

I should probably say that the challenge was to use the January kit and the title had to be Hej mitt vinterland, one snowflake had to be represented on the layout and also one button. You can see the layout below:

Competition Ala Emmeli

My dear friend Emmeli has recently announced a new scrapbooking competition and it is about lifting one of the wonderful layouts that she has created. Of course I wanted to try it out so tonight I gave it a go. There are so many layouts to choose from but finally I decided to try to lift one of her top 10 layouts from 2010 called My girl. You can find it here. I haven't done any scrapbooking at all for a few weeks so I was eager to get started :) The layout you can see below is my contribution:

Earlier on today I met up with Maria and we walked to Alvik so that I could pick up the January kit from Molly's Scrapbooking. I can't wait to start with that but first I'm gonna open a bottle of wine and relax a bit, it's Saturday so I'm allowed ;)

Another Christmas layout

Before Christmas I created another layout with the material from Molly's scrapbooking December kit. The photos are from Christmas last year when we were in Täby.

Embellished envelope

I read a lot of scrapbooking blogs these days and get so inspired by all the beautiful creations. Kajsan's blog is one that I'm currently following and she had made such a lovely little envelope, you can find it here. Perfect if you want to give someone a little present or a message!

My result is not as good as hers of course but I'm still learning :)
