Fantastic Wednesday Night

Don't you just love evenings like these, the weather has been perfect in the last coupe of days. On Tuesday night myself and F went to Mälarpaviljongen to have dinner and there we bumped into Louise and Maria :) We all had a great time together and walked down to Boulebar afterwards to buy some ice cream (ice cream is a must when the weather is like this!). Yesterday I left work a bit earlier and went into Nybrokajen where F came to pick me up with the boat. I enjoyed every minute being on the boat. First we went to Villa Källhagen, where we stopped the boat and subathed in the evening sun - it was lovely! After about an hour we moved on and decided to go to Restaurant Bryggan at Gåshaga for dinner. We hadn't booked a table but luckily we didn't have to wait long until we got to sit down.

I ordered Bouillabaisse with home made garlic mayonaise and F had pork fillet. As always we talked about all and nothing while enjoying a lovely meal together as the sun was going down. It was such a lovely evening, one that I will think about this autumn when it's getting colder again and we're leaving the summer season. I'm slowly getting a holiday feeling now, I'm working one more week and then it's time for holidays for four weeks - can't wait!

Lovely Midsummer

We had a lovely midsummer this year and I'm so happy it wasn't raining. We arrived in Vallentuna in the afternoon and went to the church nearby with the kids to watch the celebrations. Loads of people had gathered there but we were only there for a while before we went back to the house to start with the food.

The sun was shining and we had a lovely bbq dinner as well as the traditional herring. Benjamin was in a great mood and we took turns to play with him. Myself and F had brought a late birthday present for him and it was very popular :) I got to spend some time with Elias as well and after feeding him he decided to puke all over my dress - good boy! ;)

We ate and ate and were all stuffed at the end of the night. We all stayed the night and had a lovely breakfast together on Saturday morning before we all left. Benjamin was a bit sad to see us go but hopefully we'll be able to play with him soon again.

Midsummer's Eve

Today is Midsummer's Eve and time to celebrate. I'm looking forward to spending the day with Kim & Lisa, Benjamin & Elias, my brother Jens and my darling F. We're going to Vallentuna this afternoon where we're planning to have a good time together :) This will be my first time meeing Elias and I can't wait, he was born last Wednesday!

F is currently in bed but I got up a while ago. Why is it that you've got no problems getting up in the morning when you're off but when you're working you wanna sleep for hours before you are ready to get up?? We're going out for a powerwalk before breakfast and then it's time to prepare the food that we're having later on today. I baked a meringue cake last night and it has been standing in the oven over night (turned off the oven as soon as I put it in there last night). I just had a look at it now and it's looking good, will be decorating it with cream and strawberries later on. Hope the others will like it :)

Hens Party

On Saturday myself and the girls had a full day in Uppsala since we had organised a Hens Party for Lisa who is getting married this summer. It was Lisa's birthday so she had a lot of other things to think about and was going to start baking a cake when she heard a knock on the door. When she opened the door, there was a little present outside the door with instructions on where to go and what to buy. We met up with her at the bus station and she seemed really happy to see us, she had no idea what was in store for her ;)

We started off by going to Agersta Riding School outside Uppsala where we all went horse riding on Icelandic horses. I really enjoyed this part, I went to riding school in Djursholm when I was younger but haven't been on a horse back for about 15 years I'd say. I got to ride a horse called Sprettur and tried the famous tölt! Sprettur was a lovely horse and I thoroughly enjoyed the trip we took together!

Afterwards we went back to Uppsala town and had a bit of a picnic together where Lisa got to open some presents that were supposed to represent each one of us or the way we first met Lisa. Afterwards it was time to go to a dancing studio where we had booked a streetdance instructor for an hour. We got to dance to various Michael Jackson songs and had a lot of fun! :)

Later on we all went back to Lisa's apartment where we had a shower before it was time for a lovely catered meal with all sorts of nice food. Lisa received a few ballons with a few words written on them, inside the balloons there were pictures her ex's. She was supposed to guess which ex was inside which ballon with the help of the written text. There was a lot of laughter when she told us about them all ;)

After the dinner we all played guitar hero together. At around 11pm it was time to head out in Uppsala but a few of us had to go back to Stockholm. All in all it was a really good day and night and Lisa seemed so happy!

Chewy chocolate chip cookies

On Sunday I decided to make chewy chocolate chip cookies, I had stumbled upon the recipe on the Internet and decided to give it a go. They were really easy to make and very tasty ;) Here is the recipe:

2 egg whites
2 1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 cup cocoa
1 tablespoon marsansåspulver (vanilla sauce mix)
100 g chopped chocolate (white)

Preheat the oven to 175 degrees. Beat the egg whites and powdered sugar with an electric mixer for about 3 minutes, then gently stir in the cocoa and the vanilla sauce mix. Mix until dough is smooth and then stir in the chopped chocolate. When it's ready put small amounts of the batter on a baking tray with baking paper, you can make around 8-10 cookies out of the batter. Even though the cookies don't float together while in the oven, you can leave some space between. Bake the cookies in the oven for about 13-15 minutes. Remove, let cool slightly and enjoy. Surprise Night

Last Friday I had organized a Surprise Night for my darling F. I had told him beforehand that we were going out for dinner but what he didn't know was that we were going to stay the night at Scandic Hotel Anglais :) Before we went out to dinner, we had a beer at the bar Hotellet. Then we went to Restaurant 1900 at Regeringsgatan where we had dinner together and I must say that the food was fantastic! We had a lot of fun and talked a lot, when we were finished we stayed for one more drink at the terrace that has opened for the summer at the back of the restaurant. After a while we walked back to the hotel and had a bottle of champagne in our hotel room and just enjoyed each other's company. The night couldn't have been better and I'm so grateful it worked out exactly the way I had hoped :) The next morning we enjoyed a lovely breakfast at the hotel before it was time to check out.

A bouquet of flowers..

..just like that and it's just an ordinary Wednesday. My darling called over for dinner and brought this lovely bouquet with him. Flowers make me happy but my darling makes me the happiest girl in the world :)

I had an early start this morning since I was heading out for a power walk with Maria, the alarm went off at 6 o'clock. It was really nice to get out and I felt great afterwards. I've had a great day at work and now we're just taking it easy this evening. Only two days left this week and then it's only three more weeks to go before our holiday. I'm taking four weeks off work and I'm going to Sicily, Gotland and Åland. Hopefully the weather will be nice so that we can do several boat trips as well. Can't wait for it, I love the summer! :)

Ballerina Closet

Tonight I've had dinner with Louise, Maria and Jessica. We went to Hot Wok Café at Hantverkargatan and were served some lovely food, I'm still full! Right now I'm watching my favourite TV program So you think you can dance. I just love watching all the brilliant dancers and I wish I could dance like them!

Tomorrow morning myself and Maria have decided to go for an early powerwalk, we're meeting up at 6:30. Can't remember the last time I got up that early, I better go to bed soon to be able to make it ;)

Åland pics

Last weekend we went to Åland for a couple of days and had a lovely time. Luckily the weather was great so that we could take a few trips with the boat. I don't go to Åland that often but when I do I really enjoy being there. It's so de-stressing and very beautiful. On top of that I get to spend some time with my relatives and family - they're all a bit mad so you always have a good laugh ;)
