Sun protection for eyes

Before my holidays I went in to Åhléns in Stockholm to buy an eye cream with sun protection. I always make sure I put sun cream around my eyes when sunbathing but the cream that you use for your face is not ideal. I always get teary eyes if using that cream too close to my eyes. I normally use a sun stick around my eyes as well but it's not great either. Therefore I decided to buy an eye cream specially made for your eyes and I spotted Clarins Sun Wrinkle Control Eye Contour Care SPF 30. The lady that I talked to in Åhléns highly recommended it and I must say it's really good. The cream description you can read below:

Formulated with a revolutionary plant-based complex that helps prevent lines and wrinkles and stops photo-aging in its tracks. Macrame bracelet

I can't even remember the last time I made jewellery and I've actually missed it. Therefore I decided to go to Panduro about a week ago to see if I could get any ideas. I decided to buy some grey/silver beads for making a macrame bracelet, macrame knots are special knots that you tie when making the bracelet. It took me a while to figure out how to tie the knots since I haven't done it before, but after a while I knew how it was done. I must say I'm happy with the result and I'm definitely gonna make more similar bracelets to this one, probably in different colours :)

Holiday reading

Tomorrow it's finally time for us to get on the plane that will take us to Sicily! :) The weather forecast looks very good and we're longing for some sun, especially since it has been raining here in Stockholm today. We have to get up at 2:30 in the morning and F's brother has kindly offered to give us a lift to the airport. We're not gonna get much sleep since it will be difficult to go to bed earlier than normal and considering we're on holidays it tends to be quite late ;) Anyway we can't wait to go to Sicily and our bags are now packed!

I'm bringing some books and magazines to read, I love reading on holidays and it seems to be the only time I have the time to do it. I'm bringing the biography Det du inte såg by Patrik Sjöberg, Hundraåringen som klev ut genom fönstret och försvann and Blondie. Hopefully I'll be able to get through them all :)

Earlier on we went to O'Learys here in Sundbyberg to get a burger for dinner and a beer to celebrate that we're off tomorrow. Now we're gonna watch a bit of telly and then jump into bed. Happy holidays everyone! :D

Trying golf

I've always thought that I wouldn't be a good golf player since I don't have any patience and this sport requires a lot of that. Anyway, since F signed up for a golf course a while back he likes to go to the driving range every now and then and I like to come with him. A few months ago I had hardly ever tried to hit a golf ball but now I've been at the driving range at least three times. We normally rent a couple of buckets of golf balls that we use when hitting. I think golf is a very difficult sport but it's a lot of fun so I'll continue doing it for a while yet :) Perhaps I'll even sign up for a golf course myself to try to get a golf green card some time in the future!?

Tonight Emmeli and Antonia will come to Stockholm to visit me, well they're gonna meet up with a lot of other people as well but they're gonna start with me :) They're driving up as we speak and I'm waiting for them to come and join me!

Yet another lovely day in paradise..

..well, at least in the Swedish archipelago :) On Tuesday we took F's mam, auntie and the dog out on a boat trip. The weather was ok, but it was a bit chilly and quite cloudy. We decided to go to Brunnsviken first and when we arrived this big dark cloud suddenly appeared from nowhere. I thought that it was gonna start raining but luckily the cloud swept away within about half an hour. Out came the sun and we all jumped into our swimming shorts and bikinis :) It was 22,5 degrees in the water but I didn't actually jump in that day, instead I did a lot of sunbathing and got a bit of a colour. I'm preparing for our trip to Sicily on Tuesday ;) We had some wine and strawberries and thoroughly enjoyed the weather and each other's company.

After being there for a few hours we left to go to the restaurant Rökeriet at Fjäderholmarna. We had the most gorgeous dinner (again!) and shared a bottle of white wine. It was sunny at first but then it started raining just before it was time to go home. Luckily there is a cover for the boat that we put on so that we could sit under it without getting soaked. It was such a lovely day and everybody was in good form, even the dog Freja! When we came back to the harbour where we have the boat, I spotted the rainbow :)

Monki dress

Love this simple dress from Monki that you can wear with pretty much everything. You can dress up by wearing high heels or else you can choose flat sandals for more of a casual look.

Visit to Storön, Runmarö

On Saturday F and I decided to pay Storön a vist where my colleague Petra was going to spend the weekend with her M. First we went to Solna Centrum to get some things done but early afternoon we drove to the boat and were ready for a trip towards Storön near Runmarö. The weather was lovely that day and there were loads of boats in the water. At Strömma Kanal we stopped to get petrol and the idea was to have lunch there. However, the place was crowded and apparently there was a race on which probably made people stop off there as well. We realised we weren't gonna get a seat so we decided to just get a roll in the café. We went trough Strömma kanal and stopped the engine just after. Then we had a rolls and enjoyed a glass of rosé wine together in the sun. We checked the temperature in the water and it was actually 23 degrees, a temparature that even made me want to jump into the water ;)

Later on it was time to head towards Petra, we weren't sure exactly where her place was but she had given us directions beforehand. We found it no problem but I had to ring her since I wasn't sure which house was hers :) We left the boat and went up to the house where we all had some wine and snacks. It was a lovely evening and her house is on a hill so you had a fantastic view over the water. After chatting to each other for a couple of hours while consuming some more wine they thought it was best to cook some dinner. We didn't expect anything like that when we came over but they served both starters and a main course. For starters we had a salmon tartare which was aboslutely gorgeous and for main course we had some barbequed beef together with a lovely potato sallad. There was a lot of laughter and we stayed until close to midnight before it was time for F and I to take the boat home. All in all a brilliant start to my holidays!

Oh so yellow

I love wearing bright colours in the summer and yellow is one of my favourites. Below you can see some of the stuff that I really like at the moment.

Over and out

After many stressful weeks in work it was finally time to log off the computer this afternoon. I'm now on holidays for 4 weeks plus 1 day and won't be back in the office until Tuesday the 9th of August and I'm so looking forward to having some time off. Of course I had to celebrate so my darling and I had some champagne on the balcony as soon as I got home from work :) I didn't think I was gonna get everything that I wanted done before it was time to leave but when I left I was happy with what I had achieved and in my email inbox there was only two (!) emails :)

Melissa Horn - Innan jag kände dig

What is it with this girl, she amazes me with all her beautiful songs and lyrics. I love her two albums and can't wait until the new album will be released in September. I'm very much looking forward to seeing her at Circus in Stockholm this autumn. Innan jag kände dig is a brilliant song and I'm positive the other songs on her coming album will be just as good. Go Melissa!

Two more days until my holidays

I'm counting the days and now there are only two more days until I'm finally going on holidays. I'm going to be off work for 4 weeks and I can't wait! It has been quite stressful in work since I'm trying to get as much as possible done before my holidays, I don't want to come back to work to see a full "to do" list. Ok, I realise that it won't be empty either but I'm doing my best to get there ;)

Tonight I met up with Emily at Fridhemsplan and we went to Café Thelins for something to eat. It has been a while since we saw each other, March was probably the last time when she was over to my place for some dinner. Anyway it was great to catch up with her again and to hear what she's been up to. Before I met up with her, I went to Solna Centrum and Åhlens to get some stuff for my holidays. I have to start thinking about what I'm gonna bring when we're going to Sicily, we're heading over there in less than two weeks (can't believe the time has finally come)! Anyway, I bought the original Batiste dry schampoo, a yellow nail varnish from Viva La Diva and a bottle of Hawaiian Tropic after sun.

Yesterday I met up with Ellinor at Mälarpaviljongen where we sat out to have a lovely dinner. I had their gorgeous halloumi burger that I always have but yesterday was the first time for this season. It was really cloudy yesterday during the day but just before we met up the clouds started breaking up :)

By the way, saw a lovely bag that has just arrived in Bik Bok stores. My favourite is the red colour but it comes in brown and black as well and costs 399 SEK.

Boat trip to Grinda

On Saturday we decided to take the boat to Grinda, we weren't sure what the weather was gonna be like but headed out anyway. It was very warm but cloudy when we drove towards the boat and we were afraid there was gonna be thunder. The weather got better and better though and it turned out to be one of the best summer days so far! I thoroughly enjoyed being on the boat (as always) and it looked like others enjoyed it as much, there were loads of people out with their boats that day!

When we got to Grinda we stopped the boat and threw out the anchor. Fredrik jumped into the sea as soon as we got there but I wasn't sure I wanted to do any swimming since I think that the water is so cold, it has to be closer to 30 degrees for me to jump in ;) Anyway, after sunbathing for a while I thought it was time to get into the freezing water anyway ...ok it was 19 degrees but that is way too cold for my liking. After about 15 minutes I jumped in and yes it was cold but quite nice after all!

Later on in the afternoon we went to the harbour with the boat to be able to go to Grinda Wärdshus - framfickan for lunch. I had a lovely fish burger and we both enjoyed a cold beer and a glass of rosé wine in the heat! Afterwards we went back to the boat and took a little power nap before it was time to head home again. We were so tired after being out all day so we fell asleep at 23:00 that evening and slept until 11 o'clock the next day ;)

TGIF

Last night myself and Lena went out for dinner and drinks together, something we don't very often for some reason. We decided to go to Grappa and since it was really warm we could sit outside. We ordered pizzas that were yummy and had time to catch up properly. I had worked until midnight on Thursday night so I was really tired but happy it was Friday :)

My darling F came in to join us later on and Lena finally got to meet him. We had a great time together and enjoyed each other's company before Lena moved on to meet up with her other friends and F and I went to an Irish pub for one more drink.

Today we're heading out with the boat again, I hope the weather is going to get slightly better but at least it's warm. Time to get ready now, someone's calling me ;)
